Make your Martin Luther King Day off a day on for your community!

Get involved in your community on MLK day the third Monday of January. Traditionally on each MLK day a number of the Volunteer Center’s partner organizations host volunteer opportunities and make this day of remembrance a day of action!

Some past activities

  • Paint the town…at Red!
The American Red Cross is hosted a group work party where volunteers took on several large painting projects around the office.
  • Survey with Max Higbee!
The Max Higbee Center hosted volunteers to help with an end of the year survey.  An hour of their time was a huge help!
  • Bay to Baker Trail Community Work Party
Bellingham Parks, Public Works Natural Resources, and Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association collaborated to plant along the new section of the Bay to Baker Trail, adjacent to Squalicum Creek’s new channel.

Watch the Volunteer Center’s website for more details in late December or early January. If you or your work team is interested in participating in an MLK service day activity, please contact us at frontdesk@whatcomvolunteer.org or 360-734-3055.
