Thank you for your interest in helping others in our community!

From working with children to assisting the elderly, caring for the environment to fundraising for your favorite cause, there are many opportunities for you to contribute to your community and we can help you get started.

How to Get Started

1. What are you looking for in a volunteer position?

  • Do you want a one-time project, or are you interested in committing over time?
  • Are you looking to use skills you currently have or are you interested in learning some new skills?
  • Do you like to work with people? Do you like to work alone? Are you looking for “virtual volunteering?”
  • What issues really interest you?
  • If you need help with these questions, call the Volunteer Center and schedule an orientation session with one of our program directors (number 5 below.) This will help you clarify your interests and the skills you can bring to volunteering.

3. Learn about Benefits and Insurance

  • Click on Volunteer Benefits to learn some of the benefits of enrolling with us.
  • If you will be driving to and from your volunteer site, please also fill out the Insurance Update Form PDF. Low income seniors may qualify for mileage reimbursement (see Page 2 of the Insurance Update).

4. Fill out an Enrollment Form

If you have decided to volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Enrollment Form PDF and call us at 734-3055 to sign up for an orientation. Bring the completed form with you to your orientation.

5. Attend Orientation

We hold several volunteer orientations weekly, mostly at noon and 5:15 pm. These orientations are generally 45-minutes long and allow us to explain our policies, procedures and benefits. We can help you narrow down your choices and point you in the direction of volunteer opportunities that best fit your needs. Please call 734-3055 to pre-register for an orientation.
