Whatcom Human Rights Task Force has 3 volunteer opprtuniites at their annual conference.

1. Set out bagels in the morning 9-10am.

2. Help out at lunch 12:30-2pm.

3. Help with clean up 5pm-5:30pm.

Whatcom Peace & Justice Center are hosting a brunch at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Help with set-up, set out bagels for lunch or help manage lunch Also need help at the end in clean-up. Help set up the brunch from 10-11:30am.

Help the County Prepare for Emergencies

Need 38 volunteers on Thursday, January 21

Lunch included. Shifts are between 8am-3pm

Help at a functional exercise to test some operational concepts related to a surge of people crossing the U.S. – Canada border into the U.S. who might require a health/medical screening.

Volunteer roles need are as follows:

- Logistics Support: for tent set-up/tear-down (involves helping set up an inflatable 22′ x 44′ tent)

- Tent staffers: (medical personnel and logistical support)

- “Patients”: that will be processed through the system, includes crossing the border

- Exercise Controllers: (these people will assist the exercise by providing notional “injects” that help guide the play)

- General Logistics Support: (food coordinator for day of the exercise, traffic management, assistants to exercise managers, etc.)
