Project Warm-Up

This year's Project Warm-Up Distribution event will be
Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 3:00-5:00pm at Whatcom Volunteer Center. Over 20 agencies have requested items and we are still coming up short. If you would like to donate a warm item for this year's distrubution event, please drop it off to WVC by Friday, November 2nd.

Project Warm-Up has been in our community for a number of years and serves to distribute warm items (mittens, blankets, hats, etc) to local agencies that serve low-income and homeless individuals and families. Throughout the year, Whatcom Volunteer Center solicits donations from knitters and crocheters, tags, stores and eventually distributes these items. Annually we collect over 2,900 handmade and donated items that make a wonderful difference in many lives.

FIBER CIRCLE

Knitters or crocheters are invited to join our Fiber Circle! We meet the third Thursday of every month from 3pm to 5pm at the Whatcom Volunteer Center.
Call 734-3055 for more information.

Donations of yarn or handmade hats, scarves, blankets or mittens are accepted throughout the year. They may be dropped off at our offices anytime between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Items are distributed every November to area agencies to distribute in time for winter.
