This has been a tough year for many in our community and the needs of our area residents have grown substantially. Nonprofits provide the safety net, but they’ve been hit hard as well. Over 700 Whatcom County Realtors are answering the call to help,and partnering with Whatcom Volunteer Center, Whatcom Coalition for Healthy Communities, Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Whatcom Council of Nonprofits, and Northwood Hall to bring a Meaningful Giving event to the community to support our non-profit agencies.

To make this a productive event guests will be encouraged to donate to nonprofits at the event instead of engaging in their traditional gift-buying. Nonprofit represenatives will be there to provide information on their specific needs. It’s a matchmaking event with wide benefits for all parties involved and a fun opportunity for the business and nonprofit sectors to collaborate toward meeting the needs of our community and the nonprofits who serve them. Donors can choose to make a gift in someone else’s name and will receive a gift card to present to that person as their “alternative gift.”

Holiday events are always fun and this one will have entertainment, door prizes, treats and beverages. Beyond that, what’s better than sharing the wealth during the holidays? That feel good feeling is worth the trip!

The Whatcom County Association of Realtors and Northwood Hall are inviting everyone in the community to celebrate with them on December 16, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m at Northwood Hall, 3240 Northwest Avenue for great way to make it easy and fun to support our local causes and to celebrate the holidays.
