Running for 14 years!

The Human Race will have it’s fourteenth birthday in Whatcom County this June. Through these years, over a half-million dollars have been raised through the Human Race to support nonprofit agencies in our community. The beauty of the Human Race is that it you decide who gets the lions’ share of the donations you raise. Welcome to Jodi

Jodi

Jodi

Help us welcome Jodi Sipes to the Whatcom Volunteer Center. Jodi joined us in January as a Program Director, with emphasis on volunteers 55+. Jodi has a 28-year background in training, program planning, marketing, and management in Whatcom County. Jodi earned her Master’s of Education at WWU in 2002. She’s a life-long volunteer and has helped to raise money for numerous causes, served on several nonprofit boards, pitched in to build houses for Habitat for Humanity, and continues to help others as a current volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Whatcom County Parks. Jodi says she is “thrilled to be a part of the great work the WVC does, and honored to be working with our most precious resource!”

Consider this your engraved invitation!

Join us on Sunday, May 3 at 2 PM at the Bellingham High School Commons to celebrate the tremendous work that volunteers do in our community. The event is free of charge – just bring plenty of smiles, because you’re sure to be happy to have a community that cares like ours!

There’s still time to submit a nomination – we accept nominations until April 10. Download a form from our website (www.whatcomvolunteer.org), pick up a form at our office, or just send us a note with your nominee’s name and contact information, your name and contact information, what your nominee does as a volunteer and why you think it is particularly deserving of thanks, and how they inspire you.

If you’d like to nominate an organization you think does a great job working with volunteers, send us the organizational contact information, your contact information, and a few lines about what they do that make them an example of an organization that works well with volunteers.
